Gown Cleaning & Storage

After a night of celebrating, sipping champagne, and dancing the night away in your wedding gown, it’s important to have it professionally cleaned to prevent staining and yellowing.

At Jan’s Bridal Care, we believe trust is earned through attention to detail, expert craftsmanship, and genuine care. With decades of hands-on experience, our team approaches every gown with the precision and knowledge that only comes from years in the industry. We take the time to listen to each bride’s needs, explain our process clearly, and handle every dress with the utmost respect and professionalism. From the first fitting to final preservation, our commitment to quality and open communication has built lasting relationships with generations of brides who know they can count on us to care for one of the most meaningful garments they’ll ever wear

At Jan’s Bridal Care, we begin with a thorough inspection of your dress during the initial consultation, paying special attention to high-risk areas like the hemline. Next, we gently hand-treat any visible stains before placing the gown in a specialized, never-before-used cleaning solution tailored specifically to the fabric of your dress.

Unlike traditional cleaning methods that use harsh friction and high temperatures, our process uses a gentle, fabric-safe soak that lifts out residues—such as sweat, makeup, sugar, and champagne—before they cause long-term discoloration. To preserve the beauty of your gown, we recommend having it cleaned within six weeks of your wedding.

Proper cleaning and storage are essential to preserving your wedding gown for years to come. Traditional storage methods—like vacuum sealing, plastic coverings, or containers made with harsh chemicals—can cause long-term damage that may be irreversible. At Jan’s Bridal Care, our preservation experts take a more protective approach. After your wedding gown is professionally cleaned and restored by our team, your gown is then gently wrapped in pre-washed, bleached muslin and cushioned with acid-free tissue paper placed carefully in every fold to prevent creasing. It is then laid flat and placed in a custom, archival-quality wedding chest.

For best preservation, we recommend storing the chest in a safe, temperature-controlled area—such as under a bed or in a closet on your home’s main floor. Preserve the precious memories of your wedding day with museum quality gown storage from Jan’s Bridal Care!
